Challenge

The aim of the project was to develop a website which would provide the users with a free online expense management system where they can keep a track of all their expenses. The purpose of this site is to allow users to keep track of where their money goes on a day to day basis. The site would allow the users to interact with each other over saving and investment tips.

Solution

We designed a simple and comprehensive dashboard that on a glance shows you the overall expenses for the current month. For the charts section, we have used "Flex" to give the user more dynamic and comprehensive analysis of their expenses in the form of pie or bar charts. The system also enables users to compare their expenses over a period of time and save the results as PDF document. Users can also participate in the xpences community and share their views online.

Results

After the 3 months of project development and synchronized testing, the site was launched in Feb, 2009. Since then, the site has been widely accepted as a personal expense management system.
Seeing its vast acceptability the owners are now planning to include a social networking hint to the site with the "Groups" section.
